A good hair dryer is lightweight, somewhat quiet and dries hair quickly, but a great one also makes your hair look and feel better. Amazon’s best-selling hair dryer by Remington does just that, and right now, it’s on sale for less than $15.
Over 17,000 Amazon reviewers give the Remington Damage Protection Hair Dryer 5 out of 5 stars, and many say that after using it, their hair feels smoother than it did before.
“Not only did it dry our hair quickly, but it was quieter than our previous unit, has more settings, and the filter can be cleaned,” one reviewer wrote. “But this is what truly impressed us: Our hair is smoother and shinier after using this dryer!”
“This hair dryer is lightweight and packs a punch!” Another shopper said. “My hair seems smoother after being dried than it did with my old one. And with more air output, it takes less time to dry my hair.”
The dryer’s hair smoothing abilities are no joke. It’s equipped with what the brand calls “Micro-Conditioner Technology,” which means it has a specially designed grill that’s infused with microscopic conditioners that are released into the dryer’s air flow.
According to the product description, it also has ionic technology, which uses negative ions to reduce drying time and infuse moisture into hair, infrared heat for drying hair faster, and “tourmaline technology.”
Tourmaline, which is actually a semiprecious gemstone that when heated or cooled by a hot tool, creates an electrical charge that emits negative ions and far-infrared heat, according to an article by Byrdie.
Tourmaline in hot hair tools is especially helpful because while far-infrared heat dries hair from the inside out, it also locks in moisture, and the negative ions seal the hair cuticle, making each strand smooth and shiny. (When hair cuticles aren’t sealed, hair can look frizzy and feel dry.)
Beyond all of this technology, the Remington hair dryer is equipped with 1875 wattage (a.k.a. a lot of power), has three heat settings, two speed settings and a cool-shot button. It comes with a concentrator attachment for creating straighter looks and a diffuser for adding volume and definition to curls.
The hair dryer regularly retails for $20.99, but for a limited time, you can get it for only $13.99 on Amazon. If you’re not a fan of the purple and black color, it also comes in silver for $19.99.
