GRAND RAPIDS, MI -- A second recreational marijuana dispensary has opened in Grand Rapids.
Michigan Supply & Provisions at 2741 28th St., near the Woodland Mall, welcomed its first adult-use marijuana customers on Friday, Dec. 11.
“We are proud to be a part of the Grand Rapids community and to now give adults residents and visitors a choice as to where they shop for legal cannabis,” Francis Perullo, CEO of MS&P, said in a statement.
The dispensary is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day of the week. Walk-ins are allowed, but MS&P also offers online ordering for pick-up at the store.
One-eighth of an ounce of marijuana flower is billed at about $40 to $60 depending on the strain. In addition to marijuana flower, the dispensary offers pre-rolled joints, edibles, vape cartridges, concentrates and topicals.
The dispensary opened in late October as a medical marijuana provisioning center and will continue to serve patients as well.
While there are two separate menus for medical and recreational customers, medical card holders can purchase recreational marijuana products at a 10% discount.
“While we will always be committed to our medical patients, we are excited to welcome adult-use customers into our provisioning center,” Tamara Strausbaugh, MS&P’s regional director, said in a statement.
The dispensary is the second so far in Grand Rapids to offer recreational marijuana to customers 21 years of age and older.
The first sales of recreational marijuana in the city happened Oct. 23 at Fluresh. Fluresh, a provisioning center and dispensary, is located at 1213 Phillips Ave. SW.
MS&P has recreational marijuana dispensaries in Morenci, Battle Creek and Ann Arbor. The company also has a medical marijuana provisioning center in Detroit.
The company is slated to open a second medical marijuana provisioning center in Grand Rapids in January 2021 at 1336 Scribner Ave. Company officials say the 28th Street location and the Scribner location will bring a total 60 new jobs to the area.
