“Selling Sunset” newbie Emma Hernan broke off her engagement with the “mystery ex” she shares with co-star Christine Quinn because they “grew apart,” Page Six has learned.
“There wasn’t any drama,” a rep for the Emma-Leigh & Co. founder, 30, exclusively told us Monday. “It just wasn’t a right fit, but they’ve been friends ever since.”
Page Six also confirmed Monday that Hernan and Quinn’s mutual ex is Peter Cornell, a realtor and director of the Sports and Entertainment Division at The Oppenheim Group.
A separate source speculated that Hernan and Cornell could be dating again, as the exes were recently seen getting brunch together in West Hollywood, Calif., and also went on a group trip to Las Vegas together.
“The Vegas trip was a work trip,” Hernan’s rep clarified. “The whole office was there, so they’re not dating.”
“They’re still friends,” the publicist reiterated. “They share a lot of time together and there’s no hostility.”
The rep also confirmed that the realtor is still on the market and “not dating anyone.”
Hernan and Cornell got engaged in 2017, but we’re told Hernan called it off in 2018.
Even though it’s apparently been years since he dated either Hernan or Quinn, Cornell is at the focus of a major storyline on Season 4 of “Selling Sunset.”
Quinn, 33, claims throughout the season that Cornell – whose name is never actually mentioned on the show – cheated on her with Hernan. However, Hernan maintains this season that her ex-fiancé was single when they first got together.
“I was leaving the gym with who I thought was my boyfriend and she pulled up with her friend and was like, ‘Who the f–k’ is this?’ and started screaming ‘This is my boyfriend,’” Hernan recalled on the show.
Quinn revealed in a separate episode that she had been so upset because Cornell had allegedly proposed to her months prior to him proposing to Hernan. However, several of the women from the cast doubted this claim was true.
When Page Six spoke to Quinn recently, she told us that she is in a new chapter of her life – she recently welcomed a son with husband Christian Richard — but brought up old drama “to try to make a good season out of it.”
“Part of being on a reality show is you have to talk about things that you wouldn’t necessarily even give a s–t about in real life, but that’s just the way that it is,” the “How to Be a Boss Bitch” author explained.
“I was annoyed every single day doing it because it’s not something that I would actually talk about. It’s not something that I would actually care about.”
Quinn was last photographed with Cornell at a red carpet in 2015.
At the time, Quinn wore a tight red dress for the premiere of “Hot Tub Time Machine 2,” while Cornell donned a gray three-piece suit. The statuesque couple appeared happy as they placed their arms around each other’s waists for the photo.
According to his bio on The Oppenheim Group website, Cornell comes from a “prominent real estate family” in the Bay Area. He is also a former Division 1 basketball player at Loyola Marymount University and also played for several NBA teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers.
Cornell did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
