There are nine more days until recipients receive the first of March's two Supplemental Security Income payments, according to the Social Security Administration's schedule.
The first payment will be sent out on March 1. It will be worth $914. Recipients will receive a second payment of the same amount on March 31, equaling a total of $1,828 for the month of March.

Eligible couples will also receive two payments on March 1 and 31. Their payments will be worth $1,371. Essential persons, who live with those on SSI and provide necessary care, will receive two payments of $458 in March, according to the SSA.
Double payments will also occur in three other months of 2023: June, September, and December. This is because the first of the month falls on a weekend or federal holiday in July, October, and January.
The SSA typically issues one monthly SSI check on the first day of the month. However, if the first of a month falls on a weekend or holiday, then the administration sends out the check on the last business day of the prior month.
Giving people two paychecks in a month means that the administration will not give that recipient a check the following month. Recipients receive 12 paychecks a year.

The check amount is adjusted yearly to keep up with the cost of living and inflation. Social Security issued the first of these payments in 1974.
