Last year, after inflation reached historical levels, several states across the US approved the sending of stimulus checks and tax refunds for their residents to provide economic relief in the face of high prices.

Sonoma County implemented the Pathway to Income Equity Program, which will award 305 randomly selected residents $500 per month for 2 years. Recipients: Parents with children under 6 years of age or pregnant women, with family income below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level and who were affected by the covid-19 pandemic. Iowa

The UpLift program is designed to help low-income Iowans. A total of 110 participants were randomly selected from the 6,000 who applied to receive a payment of $500 over two years. Payments started this month.

To be eligible, Iowans had to live in Dallas, Polk, or Warren counties. In addition, have a household income at or below 60% of the area median and have at least one dependent age 25 or younger.

Massachusetts

The Rise Up program was launched in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The project seeks to send $500 per month to 2,000 people for 18 months. The application process will begin on June 1 and will end on July 31. New York

The Bridge Project, for new mothers in New York, will transition from a pilot project to a permanent program, according to Bloomberg. The temporary program, which provided monthly debit cards to expectant mothers in neighborhoods from northern Manhattan, will extend to Brooklyn, Staten Island and Queens, as well as the city of Rochester, in the north of the state. Eligible women receive $1,000 a month for 18 months and then $500 a month for another 18 months.

According to a report by CBS News, there are more than 100 guaranteed income pilot programs in 32 states and Washington, D.C., which are publicly and privately funded, offering payments monthly between $50 and $1,500, according to data from the Economic Security Project.
