According to Bloomberg, Grimes is hosting an online art exhibition titled Selling Out, where she's selling a piece of her soul.
No, I have no freakin' clue how it works, and yes, I'm just as confused as you are.
She had initially set the price at a whopping $10 million, but then changed it to the "best offer." "I didn’t want anyone to buy it, so I said we should just make it $10 million and then it probably won’t sell," she told Bloomberg.
Her soul's not the only thing featured in her online exhibit. She's also selling prints, photographs, and other artistic work. For those who don't know, besides being a singer, Grimes is a visual artist and has created the artwork for her album covers, giving them a distinct aesthetic.
Honestly, as someone who's been listening to Grimes' music for a decade, I appreciate this intricate level of trolling. She's getting her name in headlines and making celebrity news in quarantine much more exciting. She knows what she's doing!
I'm extremely curious about who'd be willing to shell out some cash for a figurative piece of her soul, though. Maybe her partner, Elon Musk, will join the bidding.
