A North Alabama man is charged in connection to a deadly dose of fentanyl.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office said Caleb Shane Mansel was arrested following a months-long investigation to identify the person responsible for selling a fatal dose of fentanyl in July.
A search warrant at his home led to the discovery of fentanyl, marijuana, cash and a firearm. Mansel, 22, is charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, trafficking in fentanyl, possession of marijuana in the first degree and possession of a controlled substance.
Morgan County Sheriff’s records show Mansel was released Oct. 21 on $137,500 bond.
The investigation continues and more arrests are possible, the sheriff’s office said.
