Former NFL defensive end Dwight Freeney used to stalk quarterbacks with a vengeance. Now's he's hoping to tackle a buyer for his $4,395,000 mansion in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
The All-Pro's home is located in the Old Palm Golf Club—an exclusive, guard-gated enclave of luxury homes built around a golf course designed by Raymond Floyd.
Freeney's contemporary estate sits on a half-acre corner lot and was completed in 2005. It has five bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, and 6,246 square feet of living space.
As you enter, you’ll notice the soothing color palette. The luxe flooring throughout the home is made of Italian matte porcelain.
In the living area, you'll find custom modern built-ins, a Spanish matte porcelain piece that surrounds the fireplace, and a custom glassed-in wine wall built by Wine Cellars International.
But the true highlight of the formal living area is the two-story wall of windows. Natural light won't be an issue in this part of the house.
An open family room also offers large windows that provide great natural light and beautiful views of the pool and plush grounds.
Inside the custom chef’s kitchen is a large center island with marble counters, dark-gray custom cabinetry, as well as double ovens with a gas stovetop.
Upstairs, the master suite offers a sitting area with remote blackout shades, a luxurious private bath, and an enormous custom walk-in closet.
Other luxe features include large balconies, a media/game-room, and a loft that the owners can use for whatever they desire.
Out back, there's a full outdoor kitchen with sink, dishwasher, and refrigerator. The kitchen and dining area look out onto a heated pool and large spa.
Freeney, 40, starred in college at Syracuse University before he was drafted in the first round of the 2002 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. He went on to star for the Colts for a decade, earning All-Pro honors three times and helping to lead the team to victory in Super Bowl XLI in 2007.
After leaving the Colts, he bounced around with four different teams in five seasons and retired after the 2017 season.
Michael Leibowitz with Leibowitz Realty Group has the listing.
