NARROWSBURG, NY — In a brief special meeting of the Tusten Town Board held via Zoom on November 18 at 5:30 p.m., town clerk Crystal Weston was authorized to act as administrator of an online payment system (Municipay) that will give Tusten residents the option to pay their municipal taxes and various local licensing fees with credit or debit cards. Weston said the new option will cost the town nothing. However, payments made online will include a small processing fee.
Johnson introduced newly appointed board member Al Smith to the Zoom gallery. Smith took his place on the board for the first time, voting on each of the six motions presented during the meeting. Deputy supervisor Jane Luchsinger was absent.
The board approved a motion to re-levy unpaid water and sewer district rents. Unpaid water district rents in the amount of $21,645.20 and unpaid sewer district rents in the amount of $34,100.84 will be re-levied for an aggregate back payment of $55,746.04.
Acting water district superintendent David Bunce was authorized to purchase a dewatering pump for $1,660, to be used as a sump pump at water district maintenance and repair sites.
Supervisor Ben Johnson was authorized to contract for installing new gutters on the town hall, following the recent replacement of that structure’s roof.
The board set Tuesday, December 29 at 5:30 p.m. as the board’s year-end meeting, and Saturday, January 5 at 6:30 p.m. as the board’s annual reorganization meeting.
The board went into executive session to discuss the potential acquisition of real property, emerging about 20 minutes later. Reporting that no action had been taken, Johnson reminded meeting participants that the next regular meeting of the board will take place on December 7 at 6:30 p.m.
