GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - With snow on the ground and no musical line-up announced, the Nebraska State Fair is already selling tickets for an exclusive Valentine’s Day special.
People can purchase two gate tickets, a food voucher for $20, and general admission to any concert of their choice for only $50 bucks. Normally a package like this would cost about $100, but people are getting all of this for half the price.
“Tickets are typically a minimum of $30 a piece up to $70 a piece, again $20 in meal vouchers for some great fair food - so those types of things are real and are part of it,” said Nebraska State Fair Executive Director Bill Ogg.
Even though the Nebraska State Fair doesn’t have their concerts booked just yet, they believe people’s money won’t go to waste.
“On our social media we’ve already had a question, well you should announce the concerts first, no that’s part of the fun,” Ogg said. “I promise that one of the three to four concerts you’ll like. You’ll have your choice of genre, you’ll have your choice of nights, and so buy the ticket now, give it to your sweetheart for Valentine’s Day, and plan on coming to the fair this summer.”
The State Fair was modified last summer due to the pandemic, and officials are doing this promotion to get people excited about what’s to come.
“The Nebraska state Fair is the largest single gathering of folks of any annual event but we’re still on the tail end of COVID,” Ogg said. Those types of things and the fair as we know it and love, it was interrupted last year so we want this to be a stepping stone as well, that we’re doing everything we can to prepare for and plan for a full blown, something for everyone.”
The State Fair’s Valentine’s Day deal ends at midnight on Friday, Feb. 12. People interested in purchasing tickets can visit their website.
