The U.S. government have paid out over 155 billion dollars in 88 million checks and a total of 150 million non-taxable payments are expected to be made by the end of the scheme.
The stimulus checks or Economic Impact Payments, as titled by the IRS are worth up to $1,200 for individuals or $2,400 for married couples, plus $500 for each qualifying child.
At present it's not clear if the US government will issue a second round of stimulus checks for those eligible to claim the benefit, with already over 155 billion dollars having been out in 88 million checks and with a total of 150 million non-taxable payments expected to be made out by the end of the scheme.
No taxes filed
For those individuals who have not filed a 2018 or 2019 federal income tax return or because the gross income was under $12,200 ($24,400 for married couples) along with individuals with no income the IRS advises that an online form is filled in to secure payment.
This also applies to those receiving a veterans disability compensation, a pension, or survivor benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
The information supplied permits the IRS to calculate ones eligibility and ahead of issuing the the Economic Impact Payment.
