Christine Quinn sells million-dollar homes with a million-dollar ring on her finger.
The “Selling Sunset” star designed her 20-carat engagement ring from Christian Richard with the help of her longtime jeweler Monika Kosa over the process of a few months, and no detail was overlooked.
Kosa told Page Six Style over email that rings of Quinn’s caliber retail for over $1 million.
“From the get-go, I knew it’s wasn’t going to be a simple solitaire type of ring. Oh please!” she said. “I knew that I had to bring out the best stones and the best workmanship.”
Continued the jeweler, “Christine had a vision of what the ring should look like. I love working with clients who know exactly what they want and challenge me. With Christine’s ring, we built unique U-shape suspension prongs to hold the enormous amount of diamonds in the setting alone. Although we started with a ‘no less than 10-carat, internal flawless oval rock’ [rule] — Christine’s instructions — by the time we finished setting it and building the spectacular band, we were a little over 20 carats.”
The duo created the ring from scratch, using photos, videos and renderings for inspiration.
“I love that between her shooting and traveling schedule, Christine always found time for concise and on-point feedback during the entire design process,” Kosa said. “We did it all through Whatsapp because I’m on the East Coast, and Christine is mostly on the West Coast or jetting around.”
Quinn loved her ring so much that she later entrusted Kosa to design her two wedding bands and her famous heart-shaped diamond necklace, which she wears frequently on “Selling Sunset.”
“One wedding band is simple for daily wear, and one ginormous oval-shaped eternity band to match her engagement ring,” Kosa said. “It took several months to collect 12 perfectly matching oval-cut, D color, VVS clarity diamonds. We also set the band in a delicate U-shape setting, encrusted with pavé diamonds totaling a little over 13 carats.”
Concluded the jeweler, “It’s a stunning and delicate setting. I was worried about the setting because stones could easily fall out, but Christine wanted the most beautiful and best design. Period.”
