SALEM — Area residents wanting to help Salem fire personnel support breast cancer awareness can order T-shirts now, with this year’s design featuring a faded flag with the word “Fight” and a pink ribbon.
Salem Firefighter Rob North, president of Salem Fire Fighters Local 283, announced orders can be placed online only at https://ift.tt/34Z3XeB under the fundraising tab and Salem Fire Department 2021. All proceeds from the union fundraiser are donated to the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Cancer Center in Youngstown.
Orders can be placed until Oct. 2, with delivery expected the week of Oct. 18 at the station. Information on pickup times will be released at a later date.
On the front of the blue T-shirt, this year’s design features a pink outline of a ribbon with a previous Salem Fire Department logo in white in the center and Fighting for a Cure at the top of the ribbon. The International Association of Fire Fighters symbol is on the right-hand part of the ribbon. On the back, there’s a faded U.S. flag with the word “Fight” in gray and a large pink ribbon.
The cost is $16 for T-shirts, $19 for long-sleeve T-shirts and $28 for hoodies. Shirts 2x and above will require an additional $2 for each type of shirt.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and firefighters will be wearing pink to show their support
