BRUNSWICK, Ohio

Soliciting, Beacon Street

A pest control company employee was cited at 11:44 a.m. May 6 for soliciting door to door without a city permit. Brunswick City Hall reported receiving multiple calls about Aptive Environmental employees  soliciting near Salem Lane and Greenwich Lane The company had been denied a soliciting permit the day before.  A supervisor from Aptive was located by police and “admitted to sending his employees out without the proper documentation,” reports said. The supervisor was cited and released.

Disorderly conduct, Pearl Road

Police were called to the parking lot of Christie’s Cabaret at 1:09 a.m. May 2 for “a fight involving a firearm,” reports said. A man was found unconscious at the scene with an apparent head injury. Two other persons were identified as being involved in an altercation with the unconscious man and a third person. The injured man was taken to Cleveland Clinic Brunswick.  No firearm was found at the scene and four persons were cited for disorderly conduct.

Drugs, Skyview Drive

A driver was pulled over on a traffic violation at 3:27 p.m. May 5 at the intersection of Skyview Drive and Vineyard Drive. The driver was found with marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside the car. She was cited for a stop sign violation, drug abuse, and drug paraphernalia possession.

Drugs/DUS, Maxwell Boulevard

A driver was stopped for speeding at 7:09 p.m. May 9. The driver was found without a valid license and with marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia possession. The driver was cited and released.

Traffic violation, Laurel Road

A Brunswick City School bus driver reported a school bus violation at 7:45 a.m. May 6. The driver said she stopped at the intersection of Laurel Road and Baythorn Way and activated her caution and stop lights along with her stop sign.  A black Volkswagen SUV traveling westbound toward the bus reportedly drove past the bus red lights and extended stop sign. The bus driver was able to provide police with a license plate number and the SUV driver was contacted by police. The incident was still under investigation to determine if a violation was committed at the time of the report.

Drunken driver, Southwick Boulevard

A driver was pulled over at 12:04 a.m. May 6 for “committing several moving violations.” The officer smelled alcohol inside the car and the driver performed poorly on field sobriety tests and later registered more than twice the legal limit for intoxication on a breath test. She was cited for operating a motor vehicle while impaired and driving outside marked lanes and was taken home by police.
