Charles Phan, chef and founder of The Slanted Door restaurant collection, is selling his live-work loft in San Francisco’s Pacific Heights neighborhood for $6.2 million.
Phan and his wife purchased the building in 2007 and converted it to a home for their family. The 6,374-square-foot loft is three stories; it has four bedrooms and four bathrooms, and the kitchen was designed for recipe testing and photo shoots for new cookbooks. The huge rooftop deck is perfect for entertaining. Steven Mavromihalis with Compass is the listing agent.
Phan opened the wildly popular Vietnamese restaurant Slanted Door in the city’s Mission District in 1995. The restaurant then moved to the Ferry Building, but it’s currently is open in two locations in San Ramon and Las Vegas. There are also several Out The Door takeout locations. Phan, a James Beard culinary award winner, is the author of two cookbooks: “Vietnamese Home Cooking” and “The Slanted Door.”
