On today’s Up To Speed Live, host Andy Choi welcomed Verizon Connect General Manager Peter Mitchell to the show live from Dublin, Ireland. But first, Andy caught us up on the latest news:
Broken phone promo
Senior Marketing Manager Alis Radoncic led off the show with the good news that our wildly successful “Broken phone” promotion has been extended another two weeks. That means you should dig out that broken phone and head to the store while you still can!
Time to take your VZPulse+
If you haven’t yet, be sure to take the latest VZPulse+ Survey. It’s the perfect way to make sure you are a part of Verizon’s most important decisions. As an added bonus, you’ll stop getting those pesky email reminders. Look for an email from Gallup to take your survey by the May 17 deadline.
2021 Data Breach Investigations Report
In the world of online security, the Verizon Business 2021 Data Breach Investigations Report is set to publish this Thursday, May 13. As you may know, the DBIR is an industry leading report that takes an in-depth look at the latest cybersecurity trends. It’s packed full of interesting insights into the security landscape.
Along with the release of the report, Verizon Business invites you to join our virtual fireside chat with Verizon Business Chief Revenue Officer Sampath, Chief Information Security Officer Nasrin Rezai and Director of Professional Services Chris Novak. Together, they’ll be diving into the report and reflecting on the most pressing issues for our customers and the wider industry. That will be taking place this Thursday at 8 AM ET.
Network-as-a-Service
In case you want to learn more about Network-as-a-Service, our communications colleague Jason Small published a recent article on the web that explains how it fundamentally transforms traditional networks, enabling enterprises to operate a "living" network that is untethered and dynamic.
Small Business Days
Verizon Small Business Days kicked off April 29 with NFL champion Chris Godwin helping us deliver a big surprise to a small business owner on Good Morning America — $7,000 worth of devices, connectivity, security, and tech support.
SVP of Global Commercial Operations Wendy Tacetta explained how over the next nine days, Business and Consumer V Teamers partnered to welcome small business owners into our stores, even meeting them virtually for complimentary tech assessments and special promotional offers like $1,000 off a 5G phone. That’s work we can all be proud of.
Getting to know Peter Mitchell and Verizon Connect
Peter Mitchell joined Andy live from Dublin. Peter explained that he came to Verizon when his company, Fleetmatics, was acquired by Verizon. Previously Verizon Connect Chief Technology Officer, he was recently named General Manager and now oversees more than 3,000 V Teamers around the world.
Peter explained that Verizon Connect is one of the world’s largest Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) businesses for fleet management. Connect provides software solutions that help companies improve safety, efficiency and productivity of their fleets that can make a substantial difference to their bottom line. “More than services or experiences, we offer transformation for people’s businesses.”
