CORAL SPRINGS, FL – It was a Coral Springs drug arrest straight out of a TV crime drama -- a man known as “Dreads” allegedly sold drugs to an undercover agent outside a low-budget hotel in the city’s downtown area.
Earlier this month, police arrested Salomon Theoc, 26, of Pompano Beach, after he allegedly sold the agent what turned out to be fentanyl and cocaine in the parking lot of La Quinta hotel in the 3700 block of North University Drive, a police report said.
According to the report, the agent walked up to Theoc who was in an Audi sedan and handed him through the window $60 to buy crack cocaine and $40 to buy heroin.
As Theoc drove off, police quickly tested the drugs in a nearby unmarked police vehicle and determined the drugs were cocaine and fentanyl, the report said.
Officers followed Theoc’s car and just before they stopped it in the 10400 block of Sample Road, they saw Theoc throw several plastic baggies out the window, the report said.
Once Theoc was taken into custody, officers found cannabis in his car, the report said.
A passenger in Theoc’s car was detained, but later released.
According to the report, Theoc was charged on Sept. 17 with delivering or selling cocaine (felony) and heroin (felony), tampering with evidence (felony), and possession of cannabis (misdemeanor).
